1. Introduction

Welcome to BriefBook ("we," "us," or "our"). BriefBook is a gamified book-summary mobile application available on Android ("the App"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data you share with us.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we store and protect it, and what rights you have regarding your data. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

All Firebase services are hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. Data may be processed in any country where Google operates data centers. Google complies with applicable data protection regulations, including GDPR Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore using Firebase's security rules to ensure that each user can only access their own data. We implement the following security measures:

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. Specifically:

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Brazilian Users (LGPD)

If you are located in Brazil, you have additional rights under the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), including the right to request information about public and private entities with whom your data has been shared. You may also file a complaint with the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados (ANPD).

8. Children's Privacy

BriefBook is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will take steps to delete their account and associated data promptly.

9. How to Delete Your BriefBook Account

You can request deletion of your BriefBook account and all associated data at any time:

  1. Open BriefBook on your Android device.
  2. Go to Profile → Identity.
  3. Tap Close account and confirm.

If you no longer have access to the app, email hello@mybriefbook.com from the address registered to your account and we will process the deletion within 30 days.

Note: Active subscriptions should be cancelled through Google Play before deleting your account. Deleting your BriefBook account does not automatically cancel your Google Play subscription.

10. Advertising

BriefBook does not display third-party advertisements within the App. We do not share your data with advertising networks or ad exchanges.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the App or via email. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was most recently revised.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your data.
